A new backsplash would be a great start. What colors/styles do you like? Will the dining table be staying?

I like simple. I try to stay away from tan. Dining table I plan to replace.

Nobody can advise from your photos. Lose the window and wall clutter. Paint out door and casing to wall color.

Take a photo of "table wall".

Where did you purchase the breakfast table? Looking for something similar

Fred Meyers years ago but you can still get them from other furniture stores. Just type up corner nook. They sell for about 350.00.

So many good suggestions! You’ve said you like simple, but it’s hard to tell if you prefer modern or traditional styling. How about using pattern somewhere. You have a couple of blue touches already. Here’s a couple of ideas for backsplash and runner for the floor in front of the sink. They may not be your style, but I think you need to include some color, soft touches, and pattern, along with painting.

Paint out the door, install a larger light fixture, and eliminate the shelf over the window.

Replace the family breakfast table setup with a sturdy round pedestal table (the diameter depends upon the number of chairs required). The current table and benches take up a lot of space and the style clashes with your modern kitchen.
Replace the cluttered displays on the wall and over the window with a nice piece of art or a group of framed family photos. Add a fabric Roman shade in the window. Paint the pantry door and trim in a color related to the wall paint (it appears to be pale gray).
The backsplash might have to wait until you can replace the counters.
