Well, removing the orange shutters is a no brainer.

What do you think of a pale gray, with white trim and teal or yellow door?

Take off the shutters, decide if you like the house without them. If not, consider a sage. You might want to paint the trim and the windows sage. Although with all the color in the brick, you might just want to paint the trim and the garage doors the same color or a slightly darker tone than the house paint. With less going on in the shutters and the garage doors, the brick would be a nice quantity of visual interest.

Definitely not a pro (!) but I think getting rid of shutters is a must. Not enough room for the size of shutters that you need at lowest window, so wouldn’t look “right” if others had them and that one didn’t. I think painting wood panel dark brown would look great as a contrast to the mixed dark and light brick. I’m not sure if White will mesh well with the dark brown on the window (?) edges, but definitely something lighter than the darkest color and preferably a shade present in the brick. As far as landscaping goes, once again not a pro (therefore feasibility may be lacking), but I think lower growing shrubs underneath the windows would be nice as they would not directly obstruct natural light from entering, unless of course too much entering is an issue. I would however think that a big growing (oak or the likes?) tree would be nice in the largest part of the yard to provide some general shade. Unfortunately can’t be too much more help with smaller details (smaller plants, etc.) due to my limited knowledge of species but I must say I love the design of your house (!!) and I’m sure with the attention and advice it will turn out lovely :)
