Well It was a lesson learned for me too! No problem to start something and set aside, I'll remember what I was doing! right!... I have a gorgeous Grandma's Garden hexagon quilt started with all Moda fabrics and one of their whites... one of their whites, but WHICH one???? I neglected to keep track of that! I have this entire project in a crate of it's own so not to get it mixed up with other's. Well that was a great idea! Except I didn't even keep a selvage scrap of the white to remember what it is....I'm pretty sure I can take one of my hexies to the store and the ladies there can help me figure out which white it is but still a hassle....

I have started doing that, too MIMI. Just can't keep up with everything anymore.

I'll get started on making a top, set the blocks aside and forget what I was even making! So, I've started labeling the blocks with the quilt name, where I found the pattern and put them in that safe place. Then in a couple years when I come across it again and Google the name, I might remember. lol When I finish a quilt top to send for donation, I'll pin a little note on it to make sure if something happens to me, the kids know where to send it and all to be donated tops go in the same container. Since I make mostly scrappy quilts, I don't need to keep track of fabric and designers, but I do keep track of where the quilts and quilt tops go. But, if the computer crashes, oops!

I'm with toolgranny. Nobody notices when I switch up the colors because I didn't have another spool of what I started with, despite best intentions!
