I came across this fiddle leaf fig about two months ago, i bought it at Home Depot so I was not really sure what type of care it received before me. a few of the leaves had small dark spots on them when I got it but it appeared relatively healthy.

i have another fig who is happy and healthy so i decided to follow suit with the new guy and waited to water him until he showed signs of droopy leaves leaves. I have only watered it twice. over the last two weeks at least four of the bottom leaves have turned yellow and dropped off. there are more brown areas now, some have even become holes. I was under the impression that was caused by overwatering and letting the roots sit in water?

any advive would be appreciated. I'd like to get this guy healthy.
