That room off the entry is my step-sons bedroom. The back room is a family room and it’s gated off so my dogs can’t get in there unless I let them. It’s def a narrow space but it is what it is. We try to take our shoes to our rooms but it’s inevitable a few pairs get left at the door. It’s my first home so making do.

Place a vertical shoe holder under the coat rack, on the floor... No room for coats on the right and shoes on the left. If you don't want the wire rack on the floor, I'd go to an old antique mall and try to find a wooden shaped trough or maybe even a container store for a clear plastic same shaped container, that is the width of one shoe and as long as the coat rack, cause the shoes need to be stacked toe to heel, due to the narrow space, and they have to be under the coat rack...line it with brown paper so you can toss and change out if their is outdoor debris on the shoes at any time, when they come in...

Check out the shoe cabinets at IKEA. I bought one for our tiny condo in the city and now we have it in our townhouse that has basically no entry space. It works amazing.
