Help me save my orchid

I've been away for a few months and was getting my little sister to look after my Orchids for me.

She did a great job with one of them, but with the other she said she forgot to water it for a while, and then overcompensated with it leaving it to sit in water for days on end.

Essentially all of the roots that weren't aerial roots were severely rotted.

Since I've been back I have repotted it in some new orchid mix, removed most (but not all) of the damaged roots, and put some of the aerial roots into the new mix to help with a bit of stability.

Since doing that though the leaves are looking much worse then they did when I came home.

I know this can sometimes happen after repotting, but I was just hoping for some advice in keeping it alive!

Doesn't look good and one leaf has sunburn. Putting aerial roots into the mix doesn't seem to work. Keep your eye on the newest leaf and if you see normal leaf there as it emerges from the crown without the wrinkles that might be a good sign.

Even though you are growing inside an indication of where you are in the USA might help in getting fine tuned advice.

Yeah, its still not looking good at all. I didn't realise that was sunburn! I have it in a fairly sunny area as it has always seemed to do quite well there. Would it be worth moving it?
I'm actually in Victoria of Australia not the USA.

Sun is a plus, but it needs to be screened and you might have to fiddle with the amount of shading as the seasons change.

An easterly aspect is best, but North and even West are OK provided you have adequate screening. Those large leaves indicate that the ancestors of the modern hybrids grow in partially shaded places in the tropics.

Sorry, cannot suggest how you can get the plant back, just a bit of TLC and fingers crossed.

What is adequate screening? Have a dozen or so growing growing on top of a tropical fish tank near a north facing window. Overhead sun in summer so no direct sun on plants. Sun is moving north now so am lowering a matchstick blind gradually as more sun enters the room.
