Do crocus flowers come up before the leaves?

I found a couple of flowers, and a lot of leaves without flowers in my pot where I put a few crocus bulbs last year. I put them in a pot where I had some snapdragons and pansies. I figured there was room between the plants to put a few bulbs, and just found a couple of crocus blooms.

They leaves and flowers usually appear together. Are there no leaves at all under the other stuff?

yes. They might be blocked by the snapdragons and pansies.

Oh, I read your message wrong. There are leaves without flowers closer to the shaded areas.

Maybe a few flowered already without you noticing? Usually they come up at the same time, with the flowers above the foliage... the leaves never come up first.

It is possible that I didn't see the flowers. I'm sorry to miss them, but they are so much shorter than the other things in that pot, and I just put the bulbs in as a lark. It's been so cold, I didn't expect them to come up so soon. I've been looking at my other plants for evidence of blooming almost every day. They didn't last very long then.
