I don’t know how many of you have seen the comments on Facebook, but Tally passed away today. Please keep Jim and her family in your prayers.

Oh no! Tally was a worthy adversary! I wish her well in the afterlife.

Oh no! She was so intensely alive, she so relished everything. Plant swaps, umbrella parades, zombie Barbies... I will miss her, as will all of us here. Condolences to Jim and the family.

No, I did not know. I recently thought about emailing her to see if she was coming to the spring swap.

    Tally, we love you!

    Jim, we weep with you.

:( In Venezuela we have a saying that literally translated would say in English something like: “Life is just a sigh”. You could say “Life is too short” but, for some reason doesn’t sound as meaningful. RIP, Tally.

OH NO!!!!. I will miss her SO much at the swaps and the party after. She was a sparkler. Does anyone know what was the situation? I hate to have to say, Tally Ho , Tally, you leave behind many who will miss you.

Mara, ditto. Yes she did sparkle.

"Tally ho" to you Tally and on to bigger and better things.

As to the situation someone mentioned she was having allergy tests and that it was a respiratory problem.

That makes it even sadder that her boat has sailed.

Prayers for her family. I'm in shock. Rest in peace Tally and happy gardening in heaven. I will so miss your comments on the forums.

I found some wonderful photos of Tally taken mostly at the after swap gatherings. A more generous, plant loving, people loving, fun loving, up beat person would be hard to find.

The tall man in the grey T shirt is her loving hubby, Jim.

"you touch it, it's yours"... and I will always have a rock for her.

Yes, that's what she'd say about her table loaded with googies at the plant swaps!

I was looking around the other day wondering which rocks I could bring to the next swap for her. Since there aren't many rocks in Galveston she loved to trade for rocks.

Do y'all remember when their house burned? Through it all she was upbeat and kept her sense of humor. Her screen name was "Beachplant".

I would always schedule time to take a side trip on the way and pick up some from a rock trash pile I know.

I remember her well. If I wanted the right scoop about a tropical plant, she was my go to. Never met her personally. Tally ho!

Ragna, The only time I met her was at your house.

OMG -- Tally is interviewed at minute 2:35 in this video, which is interesting in it's own right. Thanks Patty for sending it to me so we can all enjoy just a brief moment of Tally's enthusiastic personality again.

Wow. That was bittersweet. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing that video, Patti and Roselee. I've seen pictures of Talley, but never heard her voice!

Thank you for sharing the video, Roselee. I only knew her as Beachplant from this board but she sure looks like someone we'd all like to know in real life.

Oh no! I just clicked on this last night--thought it was a swap thread. I am so sorry! What a wonderful, ebullient person--so much fun & such a gardener. She grew wonderful things, shared plants & knowledge enthusiastically & brought marvelous joy to every swap.

Jim, our thoughts are with you. Tally Ho, dear friend, we miss you.

Ok so news on the service...

On her birthday March 24th, there we be a celebration of life/party at her house. As for time that is not set in stone but basically all day from about 10am until whenever. We would like everyone to wear Hawaiian shirts if you have any. Tally had a ton so we will have a few. Her husband Jim would like for us all to take a walk down the beach in her honor as well. If you're interested in attending and don't have her address pm me and I'll get it to you

Tally will be greatly missed! I cherished her enthusiasm, positivity and fellowship. I have a number of plants from her that live on. Tally ho to that beautiful eternal garden.

I didn't have the honor of knowing Tally long but I'm so happy she touched my life & snuck plants in my pile when I wasn't looking. She's my spirit animal & I want to be like her when I grow up. I just realised we shared a birthday. Continue to give em hell my friend. Tally Ho!

I loved seeing the celebration. Thank you for sharing it.

PK, I know all of us would have been there if we had been able. Thankfully, one of her friends didn't mind sharing with me, and I asked her to make it public so we could all share in the celebration of her life. She was one in a million.
