We just had our garage remodeled, making an old one and a half car into a two car with loft storage. The concrete guys who did the foundation cut the old concrete floor in the center of the new layout so the seam would be in the middle, and poured the other half with new concrete. It looks fine, matches up well, etc.

we are getting water coming in under the door only on one side. There are two doors and they are brand new. The door guy came back and changed the bottom gasket, and couldn’t see anything else wrong with it.

The old floor had some kind of sealant on it that gave it a bit of shine and made it a little slippery when wet. I also suspect that the old part is not sloped toward the door as much as it should be, though the apron is properly sloped and extends several inches inside the door gaskets.

could the old floor be ponding while the new floor is absorbing water? Any ideas? Our GC can’t see anything wrong but agrees there is something going on.
