I would do the track lighting above your work counter, where directional light will be more appreciated. Cans around the rest of the perimeter.

I know you didn't ask and I apologize in advance, but I would suggest rethinking the sink and stove back-to-back. Hard for two people to work together (the way we do it, anyway). And difficult if the oven door and dishwasher are both needing to be open (admittedly an unusual situation).

Thank you. I was heading in the same direction. I am a bit concerned that pendant, track and recessed/cans will be a little to "busy". As for the sink, the island sink is a prep sink. The dishwasher is north or to the left of the fridge and the sink faucet is towards the fridge. I have tried many layouts and may still rethink options. Appreciate your advice. Attached is a top view
