I have an Orchid I got as a gift Nov 2016. It suffered root rot immediately due to the container having no drainage or air holes. I cut off the rotted roots and re-potted in a better ventilated container. It had only one little root about 1 inch in length. It has not grown any new roots and the base of the plant seem diseased. However, it managed to survive and in fact grew a keiki that is at least 9 months old now. I really want to save this orchid and I know it has to grow new roots. I read up on the modified sphag and bag method but I am worried that if I attempt this I will lose both mom and baby. Also the Keiki has no roots yet but looks way healthier than Mom. Should I re-pot? Should I just let it ride?
