Very small full (or 3/4) bath layout
This is our smaller second bath. We don't think it's been updated in decades, and it's very sad.
I've been convinced that it's not worth it to try and refinish the old tub, and that a shower would be better.
Here is a sketch with my measurements. Note that current placement of fixtures is all too crowded, so smaller pieces will be needed, far as I can tell.
when I start to think about putting a shower in the top right of this sketch, there's so little room left for a sink. Then I'm like, well what about this big dumb radiator, why does this have to be here taking up all this space? Our heat is steam, one pipe, ancient system. Maybe we could find a refurbished radiator of smaller dimensions. This one is tall and skinny at about 4' high, and takes up an 8x9" corner of the room.
The toilet takes up a lot of room but it's kinda important, i guess. We can't consider moving it, unfortunately.
Any ideas about how to lay this out?

PRO8 years agoNew slimmer toilet that is a round front would be great to start. Wall mount sink or vanity would be ideal! If you can move the wall to right out, I would say go for it! That 12" will give you a deeper vanity and possibly more room in front of the toilet. As for the tub, its obvious you're doing a way with it so I think now is the time to make that a standard small shower 32" x 32" on a diagonal?( I'm including a picture of a project I did that was a very small space that was converted to a 3/4 bath). This could work for you if you push the wall out to the 12". Of course it would be in reverse because of your toilet location.
I'm not sure how big your current tub is width wise. That would help determine the width of the shower. Another option would be to do a smaller door and make that a pocket door.
Lastly it is possible to to have infloor heat in a wet room. It can run through zero threshold shower floors.

My idea is very similar to Abbas. If you can bump the right wall out 12", you can gain valuable space. Here is some food for thought using a corner shower.
