Scandinavian Design - Shaw Floors

I have tried to contact Shaw, but to no avail. We are looking to do a very Scandinavian design and need to choose a Shaw hardwood, as that is the only company the builder will work with, apparently. Unfortunately, I have gone through every single floor (Hardwood, Vinyl, and even Laminate, which I do not want), and they just don't seem to cater to that look as other flooring companies do. Any ideas on any that would look modern Scandinavian? Tapestry (hardwood) is too knotty for our taste, Sidewalk and Social Media look like fake wood on the website (haven't found any actual pics of it...Shaw pics all look just digitized) and I haven't found any real-life pics in rooms of those...those are literally the ONLY floors that even come close to a Scandinavian look from Shaw, and even those aren't as good as just about any other floor company. We need some serious help! The attached pics are the types of floor we're looking for...

Shaw is not great IMO, and if you don't even like any of the choices I recommend you not use them. If your builder refuses to use another company see if you can get a flooring credit to use towards another brand.

I don’t have a lot of experience with builders, but the limitation to one brand doesn’t sound right. Surely you can have some % of the flooring allocation and get what you really want. If the color is even more important to you than whether the floor is hardwood or vinyl, then for goodness sake go find what you want and negotiate.

Are there any Shaw dealers nearby where you can go and look at the actual flooring?

Awesome, you guys, thank you! HatetoShop, I did indeed go to actual places and look at the flooring, and nothing looks Scandinavian....Shaw is definitely not my favorite. I will absolutely see if we can negotiate. Thank you again!!!!

You could have them throw in cheap carpet then afterwards do what you want. Today these types of cleaner looking wide planks are quite difficult to find.

Tapestry (link shown above by Johnson Flooring Co. Inc) is THE 'Scandinavian' look floor available through Shaw. It is STUNNING. And yes, Scandinavian flooring has knots in it.

Your inspiration photo is a little unfair as it is Woca Oil finish with a white wash look. It is possible to work with Maple to get the same look using

Remember Scandinavian isn't about PALE (as in white washed) it is about NATURAL GOLD tones...like the Maple.

Well, there are lots of different types of Scandinavian, knotty and not...I am very familiar with it, more than most. Even the representative at Shaw the builder talked to agrees that they don't have anything truly Scandinavian, so I will try to look elsewhere. But thank you!

The first link I posted reminds me strongly of an old Kahrs product. Can't get much more Scandinavian than that. I suspect our builder has a contract with a Shaw dealer that will supply all their flooring. If they're big enough they might have set themselves up as a retailer. Around here they steadfastly refuse to deviate from their plans. Uptown Floors' suggestion is likely the most viable and economical option.

I figured Kahrs still had that look. After all, they are actually European for a large part.

What did you end up going with? I found this post on a Google search because I have the exact same problem! Need to choose a Shaw product...wanting that whitewashed, uniform boards look.
