I'm not a fan at the moment, but perhaps this takes some getting used to. I don't really know whether this is a good idea, especially for someone like me who tends to be traditional.

No, it's not really new

Some people are very bold with colors..they do stripes where they see fit, and color block, and what not.

I think the success will lie in how confident the person is. There are people who can pull off just about everything. And also in what kind of space it will be of course.

I might try it in the right space. I love colors. I don't consider my current space right though, so it's theoretical thought.

What I don't like-I understand it's playful and all-but I don't like how some pics show art painted too, to go with the line where two colors meet. I get what they wanted to express, probably, the carefree attitude? and I get it's not very dear to them art, but it's too..I need to think of the right wording.

I like it! I see what you mean about painting the art, april. That, I don't like! And I wonder if it's PhotoShop? (A room created for this story, in other words.) I find it disrespectful.

While I love bold colors and unexpected design I think this space looks unfinished with its decor. The style and size of art look like an afterthought. That being said, I don't think that the half painted wall would work on a flat surface. I like that this particular wall has molding that is painted too.

Shades of the early 70s!
