Is that a water faucet over the cooktop? If so, what is it for?

Yes, it is used for filling pots. It is called a pot filler faucet. Most of our clients request them these days and like having them. :) Rhoda

Yes a pasta faucet or pot filler faucet. It is helpful to fill large pots as they sit on the stove rather than lift a heavy pot filled with water from the sink. It is common in kitchens where clients get serious about cooking. Thank you for asking.
