Not sure what king of eco things you are wanting . There is nothing eco about a gas station

Patricia, everything is possible if those gas station owners are willing to work on it, it will never be eco, but it could become eco friendly...and maybe one day who knows :)

Use google sketch up. It is free. Your design could have inside and outside waiting areas for drivers who are recharging their electric cars.

If you want to learn good ERGONOMIC and DESIGN aspects go to your library and look up RAYMOND LOEWY. He was a very prolific industrial designer. Not only did he design the logos for Shell Oil and Exxon (in fact, he developed the word Exxon itself), but he also did a lot of design work on the stations and even the uniforms of the employees. For example, when you see gas pumps that have the hose hanging from high up on the pump, this was his design so that the hose never drags on the ground to get dirty. You'll learn a lot looking at his stuff.

Gas stations are just one thing he did. He designed the paint scheme on Air Force One, designed the Coke Bottle, he was the one who turned Lucky Strike cigarette packs white (don't believe the story that it was to help the war effort), and did human factors work for NASA on Skylab and the like, just to NAME A FEW.

So my question still is what is it you want to make eco friendly.

Soo, as we all know, we have to still work with fossil fuels and there is no way that we can influence on USA, OPEC or any other state who lives for oil and from oil (there is a way but we have to raise our awereness and there still would be problems).
Our idea is that our national oil company (whose project we are working on) leads eco friendly gas stations revolution in our region and Europe, connecting oil and renewable energy. I am connected with people who are also willing to work on that, with some start-ups from young entrepreneurs and students (like me) working on renewable energy and eco friendly products that we want to implement on gas stations. We will try to inspire and stimulate people to cooperate with that project (with us) through some special Loyalty programs that will motivate people to use our gas stations.
Currently, that is all I can tell you, but soon this project will see the light of the day and I will tell You more about it, maybe post some pictures, and hopely, one day, we will all be able to use this.

Sounds kind of like designing new blacksmith shops in 1925 for people to get their horses shod.

Sales of electric cars are increasing at a quite rapid pace. Many countries have already passed laws that will not allow the sales of any cars that require petrol after 2025 or 2030. Nearly every major OECD city is discussing restrictions that will only allow zero emission vehicles in to their cities and even at that any vehicle beyond a bicycle or limited power e-bike will still be charged a congestion charge. An increasing number of millennials (and others) are saying that they'll never buy another petrol car.

Gas station? Really?

Sadly, I live in a country where we have only a few places to fill your electric cars and even less electric cars. I am 20 years old student and I would love I could buy an electric car or even a hybrid car, but in my country standard is not that great to think about that. And my opinion is that every discussion about zero emission vehicles is only a discussion in next 10 years and implementation of that law(s) will be able in 15-20 years. That is why I want to start with litlle things and think big then start big and do nothing. This company is leader in our region (western Balkan peninsula) and if they start this trend it will lead to the bigger things I hope one day will happen. I would love to live in country where is air cleaner but I have to face with the facts and continue with this.
If you have something interesting and any idea for me and for my team I would love if you could share it with us, it would help a lot.

If you are an economics major then you need to learn economics which involves a lot of prognostication of the future - where will the hockey puck be, not where is it now.

Every major auto company is shifting their focus to electric. Truck companies have pretty much abandoned diesel and are now putting all of their focus on electric. Why? Companies and municipalities with significant vehicle fleets have notified their vendors that their future is electric with some stating that they will purchase no new vehicles except electric. Why? One of the leading companies in this appears to be in your own backyard - Rimac.

You are going to design gas stations and then find that by the time you're done designing them that nobody wants them anymore. Who wants an economist that then says "well, I thought we'd need better gas stations."? Look at the trends that are happening around the world, particularly those that are increasing, and learn why that is happening and try to understand why what will happen in Croatia.

The economics of petrol vehicles is beginning to fall apart. Why? Why have over 500,000 people put down $1,000 deposits on Tesla Model 3's? Why are so many young people in the U.S. and Europe saying that they will not purchase a new car until they can get a suitable electric?

With the TCO of electric cars being so low and still declining, why would people anywhere, including Croatia, continue to buy petrol cars?

That is today. The key point of economics is not today but tomorrow (in light of today and history). If you worked for me and said that I'd kick you out on your bum. I don't need someone to tell me what is, but someone who can tell me what will be. I don't need a weather person to tell me that it's raining out, I can look out a window and do that myself, I need one who can tell me what it will be doing this afternoon or tomorrow when I'm planning a picnic.

What happens if you tell someone to build a bunch of 'eco' gas stations, they invest a gob of money in doing so, and then people aren't buying gas anymore?

As a good economist it's important also to fully understand new technologies and to separate fact from fiction from myth. How many EV owners ever charge their cars anywhere but home? So, how important are those chargers that you think you don't have? When do EV owners need chargers other than home?

Looking at https://supercharge.info it appears the Croatia is well covered for the primary reason people ever charge away from home - long distance travel.
