Black is fine. Consider an induction cooktop. Much better performance than electric. You may need new pots but the cooking experience will be much improved. Your cooktop should be 30amps and I know the Bosch and fridgidaire are 30amp induction cooktops.

Induction heats the pan and yours heats the glass to 750*. Induction wipes clean with a paper towel because of the much lower heat of the glass. And the control you have of temp change is near instant. A major difference.

Another recommendation to consider induction instead of a standard radiant electric. There is so much more control over the cooking temperature, and clean up is easy. I am so happy I've switched. I think the black is nice, and you ca get black induction cooktops.

Go with black and definitely consider an induction. It has non of the cleanup issues with a standard electric glass top and it also cooks far better. Many people prefer it to gas.

Your small counter appliances are black and stainless so the cooktop on the counter doesn't appear completely discordant.
