Painting the shutter bi-fold doors

My painter followed the instructions and we are seeing an orange peel effect. We are spraying another top coat to see if this helps. How many others have had this problem?

    This particular door is already painted white; and we would not recommend painting this door without following proper procedures, did you sand this door completely (in between all louvers) prior to painting? The only doors we recommend painting are the primed or raw noted in the finishing instructions. Please advise.

    Yes, they were sanded. It just didn't work. Painter felt the paint wouldn't last so recommended. We had to scrap the project and bought others from Home Depot.
