Deep Planting Bulbs for Longevity

I recall reading this awhile back. Figured I'd link it for the GW diatriable. Granted most bulb sellers seem to suggest planting around 8 inches for tulips for bulb longevity. This link seems to suggest otherwise..

I don't treat mine as perennials and switch em up every 2 or 3 years. Give me a chance to change the color schemes. For those that do treat your bulbs as perennials, what camp do you plant in. Deeper or standard depth, or as the article suggest, not even standard depth
