Anyone have info on Hunter's Hybrids?

Greetings,

Has anyone here grown or have more information about Hunter's Hybrids? Ken Muzalewski is a relatively new Texas hybridizer. Are any vendors carrying his violets yet? All I was able to discover is that he sells his plants through eBay. Many are variegated with interesting blossoms and his crosses appear to come from good stock. Here are a few that were listed on eBay:

-Hunter's Antidote (K. Muzalewski) Single/Semi double, lavender with dark lavender fantasy, green edge pansy. Variegated, dark green, slightly wavy foliage. Standard.

-Hunter's Clear Night Sky (K.Muzalewski) Light pink, single/semi-double, slightly cupped stars, sticktite. Cream, pink and green variegated foliage. Standard

-Hunter's Exit Wound (K.Muzalewski)

-Hunter's Muy Grande (K.Muzalewski) Large single/semi-double plum star, pink streak fantasy

-Hunter's Rut Crazed (K. Muzalewski)- Semidouble purple star with pink and white fantasy streaks. Variegated dark green and pink

I looked at the ebay offerings - this gentleman has a good selection of other AV hybrids, some of them are quite rare. His hybrids are very desirable - and will sell for a high price. His Hunter's Antidote is absolutely yummy.

You can see - 2 days more to go - his hybrids are about $35. And will go higher.

He is on FB, why not send him a message expressing your interest, I bet he would be delighted to talk to you.

Thanks, Lucille, but I do not have a FB account, as I do not trust them with my data. Same with G00gle and Micr0s0ft. Once they have it you really can't get it back, even if you delete your account. Anyhow, I digress about data privacy. On a slightly different topic, Do you like to grow Mac's hybrids?

I do. I grew some reds. Strong plants. Gave them away to friend who likes red minis.

He sells his plants via eBay under username PierceDM, I recall. I will attempt to contact him there.

He is on a public Facebook African Violet site. He posts beautiful pictures of his plants. Have fun.

Yes, very nice...but most definitely not the cheapest place to get stuff. I got K's Cherry Chip Frosting for $8 and his bid is $31 now.

Though maybe the prices are not his fault, but rather the bidders.

Edit: Have to correct myself that is WHO I bought from...and I must say his plants were excellent. I would buy again (but not at the current bid price).

I would agree ... Antidote is gorgeous but far more expensive than I could afford. Margery's Melody is quite nice as well.

The starting price for Antidote was $7.95 - so it is not the seller who overprices his stuff - it is anxious buyers who want it and bid high. I think it makes sense to wait. I am sure the same is on K's Cherry Chip Frosting.

It is good - means people are passionate about AVs. If you do not want to wait - pay $$$- next year it will be $10.
