Thank you for your feedback, but unfortunately the porch needs to be repaired due to the top material which is tile, not brick. The tile is broken and needs to be replaced. When the porch was done by the previous owner it was done incorrectly. They did not include a moisture barrier/subfloor and when it rains very heavy water gets into the basement. The entire porch needs to be repaired. :( The top material cannot be tile. Bluestone would cost a fortune (11k) I should have specified that the front porch needed to be repaired. The contractor suggested trex with subfloor underneath. Now, we just have to choose shade of brown. The concrete / brick front stairs will not be changed.

I like the tiki torch, spiced rum is very dark. We went with Havana gold and love our Trex, and I am sure you will too!

Ok, then, since you have to replace it, to answer your question, I'd go with the lighter of the two choices, or possibly lighter, in a grayer tone instead of a brown tone. I'm not sure what color the siding is, but the brick steps that you are keeping look a little pinkish ? Sure, there should be a contrast between the siding and deck, but I don't think it needs to be drastically contrasted. :)

Thank you for your input. My siding is a beige vinyl. The back of my house has trex steps off of the enclosed deck which are brown.

Gray would be nice but since I have beige/tan siding perhaps tiki torch brown would compliment it more. What shade of gray were thinking?
