What color do you use for curtain rods

trying to decide on curtain rods for 2 bedrooms. any tips to know when choosing color? one room has brown shutters with white window trim. walls are blue and bedding is natl linen, white. other room has brwn blinds,with white trim , walls are caramel color and bedding is white, green and brn.
