So, after tackling an absolute monster of a project and being pleased with the results (https://www.houzz.com/discussions/china-cabinet-redo-please-help-dsvw-vd~4922572), I decided to finally renovate this mid-century modern table that I've had for ages. It was in sore need of an overhaul, but I actually really like the style and it functions well in my space.

I looked through a lot of photos of similar tables to get some ideas and found that many of them didn't have a back enclosure. That got me interested to see if mine was removable... which it was! That was happy discovery since it looks lighter and more stylish.

As for colors, I knew I wanted to incorporate some of the "metallic pearl" paint that I had used on my china cabinet, partly for continuity and also just because I like it. I'm really into blues at the moment, so I matched the darkest color blue in my area rug and decided to add a bit of gold for glam.

Despite the fact that this seemingly small project gave me a few headaches along the way, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and how it looks in the room.
