No specific ideas for your blank slate. What do you want/need? My backyard is currently torn up for a new deck build and reconfiguration. I’ve been glomming on to gardening shows on Netflix and YouTube. Getting lots of fun ideas from shows like Big Dreams, Small Yard, Love Your Garden and Britain’s Best Back Gardens. Maybe worth a look?

Halo Alitabeth, I agree with Doug. Use the sleepers and make a raised bed area which you can green up to make the space softer on the eye and attract birds. The most important thing is always to remember to build the soil up with good compost, and after you planted, finish up with a thick layer of mulch to protect plant roots and make the area look complete and rounded off.

Perfect spot for a garden

I don't know if you want a deck/seating area (you didn't tell us), but it's hard to tell how far from the house this area is. In my experience, the further from the house anything is, the less likely it is to be used.

If it were me, I'd fix the terracing, remove the bricks, and plant trees and/or tallish shrubs.
