I had 60 trees. One (from Record Buck) died. Another lost all leaves but put out new growth. And my 30 something year old key lime did what it always has done: dropped a lot of leaves and had twig dieback but is now hanging in. So what does that make on scale of 1 - 10? Perhaps 9.5?

Bob, I think you are much closer to a 10 than you give yourself credit for! I think I’m maybe a 6-7? I lost three this winter...two separated twins from Record Buck farms and one Fukushu kumquat. I think the last was my mistake...I did not notice there was water in the saucer, and it went downhill quickly. I have a bit of twig dieback on some trees, but I think they’ll make it till they go outside.

I have a Meyer with a baby lemon and 6 leaves hanging on. It also had a branch die back but it's finally pushing new growth from 4 different nodes now. And my tree is a Record Buck Farm tree! So I'd say maybe a 2.5 for me so far considering the reputation of RBF trees lol

Oh not 10 for sure , I would say 6 for me. Although, individual trees of some members here are solid 10 :)

Bob, if it was middle of July and you asked the above question, my score would have been higher, some of them look not so good this time of the year :))

Speaking of tropics Bob, I have a pink flesh guava seedling, will I be able to grow it here and have fruit? I tried the fruit in my friend's house and really liked it, so I saved the seeds from the fruit and planted them.

Guava is kind of easy to grow and there are so many varieties, go for it.
