Good choices... are leather chairs smooth? and lamp is smooth and is it contemporary I guess I'm asking?

I'm going to open another window to see them side by side with your area...

Does 1 blend with sofa and dining chairs? But seems enough 'light.'

The 2 and 3rd seem toasty medium, like fireplace, counter, art / and low contrast with dark part of island...

    ... next seems too grey.

Thanks Everdebz. So, are you saying yes to all but the third one? Yes, the leather is smooth and the den lamp is contemporary and smooth. So, you like the warmth in the medallion and wicker back type stools? My den has a cream linen sofa and the black kitchen chairs have a matching cream linen. So, I am leaning toward the cooper. It’s not an easy decision that’s all I know. But then again, maybe I am over thinking it. I think the counter stools have so much potential to create a wow factor but I am mostly interested in comfort. Also, what do you think about the lighter rattan back stools against the dark mahogany bar? They go well with my coffee table and console but I am dealing with the cream linen again which seems safe but boring. I really need an interior decorator. I went through four though. I will find one soon but in the meantime I need counter stools.

Are you keeping your table and chairs? What do they look like?
@melissa, my kitchen table and chairs are from Restoration. Black round pedestal table with black chairs and cream linen. See below. And, replacing the fixture over kitchen table. I know it’s too small.

    Some more options...

@Melissa I like your suggestions, especially the last two. Do you have links? Really appreciate your interest and help!

@Melissa Gallagher, I have spent possibly 40 hours looking online trying to find the perfect counter stool. Thank you! :-)

Have you thought about a print for the wow factor? I love this fabric and think it might look really cool...I’ve seen this. It’s Ballard Designs. We have an outlet here....
The others were Frontgate and Grandin Road ....all the same company...they always have tons of bar and counter stools at the outlet and they are good quality.

Actually I wasn't fond of 4, called charcoal... wouldn't show hardly at all against island...

Did you say dining chairs are black framed? [does room really need more dark] cause I liked idea of a pattern including already present light and dark!!

This has casual rustic, but seeing black here and there in art frames, dining chairs, etc... wondering if you'd like these black base. And the warm wood: is it like fp stone and art?

I really like the "Zentique Parisienne Cafe Counter Stool". While a classic, there's something fun about it. I also like its curves and "X" back to echo your pendants.

But, I also really like Melissa's idea of introducing some pattern to break up all of the solids . Here's abstract polka dot - also from Ballard Designs - that is definitely on the sassy side of things.

Would you prefer to stick with solids?

A little color would not go amiss in that sea of blah some pillows on the sofa the same color and IMO the 2 you posted are way too formal for the space

A million thanks! You all have helped me so much. I didn’t know Ballard designs had 417 fabrics to choose from. I am looking on their website now and mulling it over. Someone said I need a print for my sea of blah and that’s exactly how I feel. I have been so conservative in all of my choices for my house because I am afraid I will make a mistake. And, I have tried using designers and it has not worked out great. On top of that, my husband wants to have say so and as a result, I can’t do some of the things I want because he doesn’t like it. Yesterday, I finally settled on three different fabrics for custom drapes for guest bedrooms and DR and it feels like such a burden has been lifted now that I am going to have curtains for my rooms! Oh, if you saw the rest of my house, you’d think it was blah too but I picked it really fun ikat patterns and colors to bring life to the rooms. Anyway, I think it’s really cool that I don’t know any of you yet you’re willing to invest your time replying to me. Thank you!

Dots yes, but you see art prints up close, and sofa pillows, etc. - let us see after you get the swatches !?

Do your prints have old world look - wreath?

If you like the Pariesienne look, check out Constance at Ballard. Comes in wood or metal and you can get made to fit cushions for comfort and pizzazz.

@Barrowp, yes I had thought about the Constance from Ballard! It was originally one of my choices. I am 55 so I like to sit on something soft. I am not ruling it totally out! Thank you!
These are the swatches I ordered based on kitchen counter colors, my sofa pillows and the warm tones in my kitchen.
And these and the black dots. I am leaning toward the one on the left here. But, am waiting to get the swatches.

    I like the zebra...absolutely.

    It's unexpected and fun.

@everdebz, yes the art work has an old world wreath. And, the other is a stamp. Not sure those are staying though. I bought several things for my den just to fill space until I could pull it all together. I am in process of looking for a colorful piece of artwork to go over my mantel and then I will get other artwork to replace the stamp and wreath. I also have to find the right accessories for my den table. Work in progress for sure!

    Oh and this one too.

Fun times and nice selections Tiffany! Can't wait to hear your thoughts about the swatches. Keep us posted.

@pennydesign thank you for your comment. At first I thought that mustard color would be too bright but I searched BD and found another chair in this print and the color looks perfect. Now I just need the swatch. See the difference? The color on the left would be perfect and could settle this for me.

I love Ballard Designs.....and the outlet is amazing.....

Let us know what you find!

    Melissa Gallagher -

Where is the Ballard outlet? I am also looking for counter stools and like the one you posted with the odd shaped low back with tufted buttons. Where is that one from?

    Thanks for your help

the brown and round one you posted is great! Warm and welcoming.. colors brought out from the fireplace and kitchen stone... Patterns are overrated...

Ballard outlet in Cincinnati but they have one in Georgia and Florida and also some other non-outlet stores in other states. It’s all on their website.
These are from Frontgate. Same company owned by Ballard and also own Grandin Road. The outlet here in Cincinnati always has tons of bar/counter stools to pick from.
