Degas II...she's the best I've ever seen her right now so I couldn't resist posting. Her colors have been faint and more of a wash with previous bloom cycles, but not this time. (No flash / West window sill grown.)

IMHO - It is not difficult to grow - it is quite difficult to grow so nicely, Good Job, DViolet!

This thing sports, the leaves do not lay flat... it really doesn't bloom that much - it rests for quite a while between bloom cycles. But when you get it right - it is stunning... And then you are looking at the green plant out of bloom for several months...

That's gorgeous!!! Maybe that's what the poor Optimara at the greenhouse is supposed to look like...... (flowers are fading hard, and the plant's seen better days)

I disbudded all my named plants recently but my Optimaras are all performing for me right now. They're technically considered my NOIDs so this is the closest these plants will ever get to entering a real judged event and now... on with the virtual Optimara show.

Here's what Rhapsodie Cora is doing right now (no flash/west windowsill). She is still quite small. And points off for symmetry, heheh...

And here's what she looked like when I got her on Nov. 24...

A bit of a wreck. I'm amazed at what she's done in 4 months!

(May have noticed the color difference, which seems to be from incandescent light vs. shaded daylight.)

Love Optimara Cora - rich purple color in contrast with the white on the petals, symmetrical foliage, perfect! I never had any problems to grow Optimara plants with nice flat foliages. Love all Optimaras!
