Carol, I'm sorry about your daughter's cats, and hope they continue to recover.

I'm aware of lilies' toxicity to cats and, other than that, I can't stand anything about them, particularly their smell, so I wouldn't have them in my house, ever.

A good reminder at this time of year - indoor cats are more at risk because they are more likely to get into things and eat plants, not having grass to eat instead.

Daylilies (Hemerocallis sp.) is toxic as well - one of my cats was in the hospital after eating some of those. Id just built him a cat enclosure, had dug up the day lilies and had them in pots but had stupidly forgotten to move them out. I let him out for his first time and five minutes later he was chomping on the day lilies!!! I felt that same sense of guilt (he's OK but Im sure he didnt like what all they did to him in the hospital)

But I just want to give you a heads up that actually there’s a long list of both indoor and outdoor plants poisonous to cats. And even if you’re not an aficionado of gardening and flowers, chances are you might have some of these toxic plants in your home.
