I like the trim and shutter colors, but I would add a pop of color for front door. I would also add some kind of railing to steps, so they appear more anchored and not floating.

Consult a local landscaper about foundation plants, they need some work.

More photos from further away might be helpful. I'm sure more people will chime in with suggestions.

Either black or navy blue for the front door would be nice.

This picture shows more of our house. Landscape has been a work in progress, we have a plan just waiting for Fall. Great suggestions, thank you! Specific brand and paint color welcome!

I would add a cover to the porch as well so the house is not such a uniform shape...love the landscaping so far!

Are you wedded to a double door? if not, I would switch to a single door with side lights on both sides of the door. Would be much more welcoming, and added value of bringing light into your foyer.

My house used to look like your. I added an octagon porch with six pillars. The roof of the porch has large white posts going around the top. I have had many people stop and ask who did my porch and copy it.

You could certainly add a portico if your porch structure would support it. We added one and loved the outcome, but it was a lot more pricey than simply replacing your front door.

I see these doors being painted French Blue.

I did an article for This Old House on choosing colors for your front door. ( http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/0,,20567862,00.html) There is a wide range of colors as you can see in the article. Rather than just choosing a color, more importantly I think you need to think of what statement you want to make with your front door. Stately/refined? Playful/bright? The color makes a big statement about who lives inside :) . My thoughts for your home, looking at the wide range of colors in your brick, is to choose a rich gold to pull out the colors from the lighter brick color. HC-7 or HC-8. which balances a rich gold color while not straying too far from the style of your home. I look forward to seeing what you select.
