backsplash idea?

I just completed a remodel of my kitchen and bathrooms. I’m still contemplating backsplash behind the range. My house is log construction so there is wood everywhere! It took me years to commit to adding color! So...I’m not sure I want to go all the way with backsplash but definitely behind the range. Ideas for some that would tie in well? Also, how to apply with the grooves in the wall? Here are a couple before and afters.

How about just a stainless panel to match the hood? You can easily get them at big home center stores and prop it up there to see if you like it.....Since you already have a 4 in. splash the rest of the counter...

Thought about that but wondered if I need something with contrast?

I think the wood looks nice against the white cabinets!

Thanks!! I love how it came out

I love the idea of the quilted! That would give just enough contrast I think. Will try that!

Honestly , it’s way to dark . You should make lighter cabinets , etc...

How do you get lighter than white?

Do you have under cabinet lighting?

Not yet but we will soon. We recognize the need for that.

Show us what you decide ...

and I think you made a great decision to paint the cabinets white since as you said, you have a lot of wood...looks nice. And I like your countertop, too.

Instead of adding yet another material for the backsplash what would you think about using glass/plexiglass over the wood just as wide as the cooktop? Would need photos of all the walls to see where the wood comes in. Just trying to avoid another cut up area. But if the wood is everywhere, maybe the stainless would be welcome. Also please cover the switch plates on the wood with a matching wood plate. You can buy natural wood plates and then stain them to match.

The stainless ties in with the hood. I would think plexiglass would melt if grease splattered on it.....and glass would have a flare to it.

The like the suggestion of the wood switch plates.

Definitely plan new light switches. Lol. Should have done that before posting. Yes. The wood is everywhere.

Kitchen looks great! What about stainless steel subway tile?

    Glare, not flare.

If you want to keep the look of the wood over the cooktop, do a search on Houzz of glass backsplash and plexiglass backsplash. This is a real thing and there are plenty of them. You would use one large cut sheet of clear material. The material and risk of flare or glare is not different than glass tile which is all the rage for backsplashes now. I think your kitchen has a lot of personality with all the wood and I would highlight it and try not to break it up as much as possible.

Thanks for the compliment. And thanks for the tip. I’ll check that out. Never thought of that.
