picking off flowers

last modified: 8 years ago

OK, the annual question. My Big Beefs are about 3 feet tall and have been flowering since they were 2 feet tall. I usually pick off the flowers when the plant is immature to encourage the plant to put more energy into plant growth. Is there a handy rule about when to stop doing that? My cherries, on the other hand, are the same size or larger, and show no inclination to flower.
