I’m mixing marble and Quartzite because I like it and don’t care what design dictates...so if you think it looks pretty together and you are going to love looking at it then that is what matters <3

I don't live in a Craftsman house but I am remodeling and the kitchen and bath will have a Craftsman/Prairie homage. So I am not worried about replicating the authentic but whether the parts play well together and look aesthetically pleasing with the quarter sawn oak doors I've chosen :-)

After considering all choices based on functionality and aesthetics, I am having Black Galaxy counters because it is relatively quiet and because the copper specks pick up other copper in my kitchen - the apron sink and the ceiling.

My designer has recommended a green somewhat ombre tile that has a slight bit of iridescence to it. It isn't the authentic green tiles of the Craftsmen kitchens I've looked at but it goes well with the granite and the green calls out the period.
