I'm tired of using a 100' spray hose in the backyard for our 13 arborvitae nigras and 6 hydrangeas. I put in the Rainbird 32ETI 'diy' sprinkler system in the front yard and back which has worked well for the past few years in keeping the grass healthy. Figured it was time to do the same for the trees/flowers.

Our 13 arborvitae nigras are 3 or 4 years old and about 9-10' tall arranged in a row (approx 45' long) along the fence line. I've read these trees would do best with 2 GPH emitters spaced 12" from each trunk. Can't find info on how long to run the drip though...

There is also a large crab apple tree about 15' from the last arborvitae. Canopy about 20-25' wide.

I would also like to use the same system to feed 2 limelight hydrangeas (tree forms) and 4 other hydrangeas that were all put in last year. The backyard is in Massachusetts and gets direct sun for almost the whole day.

Depending on how often the system needs to run, I would consider turning this on manually vs buying another battery powered rainbird timer.

If the arborvitaes each get two 2gph emitters, how long would you recommend running the system in Spring/Summer/Fall and what would you use for the hydrangeas and crabapple tree if all run along same tubing? Would you suggest valves to shut off the flow to the hydrangeas if the trees need significantly more time? Would 3/4" tubing be a better choice for the 85' run feeding everything?
