mammoth sunflower seedlings grown inside

Hi, everyone. I have a bunch of 3-4 inch mammoth and skyscraper sunflower seedlings in my sunroom and just waiting for the right time to put them in the ground.65-75F in the sunroom, lots of light, but not direct sunlight. They are in those biodegradable pots.

I am in zone 7a (NoVA) and still have a few nights dropping into the 31-32F range. Days go up to 40s-60sF

What temperature will it be safe for me to put these seedlings in the ground?

When the danger of frost is past. They might take a light frost but not a freeze.

in a week or two.. i would probably start taking them outdoors for the day .. in full bright shade .. which is might brighter than the shade in your sunroom thru windows ... then eventually.. i would start leaving them out overnight as temps allow ... then move the pots .. etc ..

in my MI ... i would be doing this in may ... i do NOT know how this all times out in your z7 VA .... but imo .... those are the variables you need address ...

ps: and when the time comes to plant ... i might not do them all on the same day ... i might spread out the planting over a week or two ... just to cover my odds on too early ...
