Hi mmonkey, thanks for the compliment. This is an Aeonium that actually changes from green to a darker reddish color when in more shade. And it does thrive very well in shade. It is an Aeonium canariensis 'Velour' or 'Garnet'. But not certain. I've had it growing in my own garden for a few years and I used some cuttings for this project. You'll see other photos in this project that show the straight species Aeonium canariensis and they stay green and are much larger. There is an Aeonium 'Zwartkop' that has very dark foliage with a tall stem you may want to check out, not used in this project. I hope this helps! Eileen
