FourWinds doesn't do dwarfs. Just simi on C35 and full size.

Their website says differently which is why I asked.

If fourwinds sell dwarf trees for pots it still could be a semi dwarf in ground. Even a large tree like the Cuban Shaddock behave=s well as a dwarf in potted culture.

I was unable to get information on my Fourwinds NZL as to rootstock. Some one else was told their NZL was on C35. That is dwarf in a pot and semi dwarf in ground. Mine is in ground.

I once asked Ashley what rootstock options I might have for a lemon ordered from four winds and she told me they only graft to C-35 these days; I think Steve is spot-on in terms of FWG trees being semi-dwarf unless the variety itself is dwarfing (sudachi, chinotto, and Meyers / Satsumas to a lesser extent all come to mind).

Their home page says: The original dwarf since 1950. FW really needs to eliminate that because it's just not true. In my mind, dwarf is suppose to be smaller than a semi dwarf no matter where it's planted. I guess that's because of all the stone fruits I have planted in the past.

Thank you Steve. Where did you get that statement? I didn't see it on their website or am I just blind and didn't find it? This is what I did find :

How big do they grow?

This depends on where they are planted, and the care received. In general if you plant a dwarf citrus tree in a container, over the years with good care it will top out in height, after a good number of years, at around 8-10 feet, depending upon variety. The same tree might get twice as tall in the ground, and would be considered in that case, “Semi-Dwarf.” Pruning is always an option for keeping them shorter.
