We tried to do a lot of research before replastering our pool. Our pool person thankfully talked us out of doing any bright or dark blues with quartzscape because he says they stain quickly and can't be cleaned and customers are typically unhappy after a short period of time. (And it's expensive!) So I picked a very light color, mostly white with a few flecks of blue, "Mariner Blue" and decided to only do the spa in that, and the rest of the pool in plain white plaster. Well. when the spa was done we didn't realize it had been done because it looks like white plaster. The detail shown on the Quartzscape samples makes it look like pretty jewel stone pieces but they are actually the size of like salt and pepper flecks so unless you get really close and examine it (and even then, it's hard), you can't tell. In retrospect, I wouldn't do it again because the spa was about $1500 extra (beyond the normal plaster) to do the Quartzscape. I will add photo later.
