Teal looks fabulous with gray, especially a silver gray similar to what I used in my living room and foyer. It's Classic Silver from Behr and I love it! Here is a photo:

BTW my granddaughter has painted her room teal and she has silver mirrored furniture and it looks great!

I like the idea of silvery grey, but I also like the idea of a bright white and adding in some patterns and glossy lamps. Since you're not afraid of colour, play it up!

Great sofa! And great art!!! I would vote for a light gray paint or a true greige....like BM Edgecomb Grey. You could pull a few “odd colors” from the print onto the sofa in pillows. One thing that I think would help that print really become the “star” is new mat and frame. The black frame maybe, but the pure white matting makes it look harsh....take that crazy man to a good frame shop along with photos of your room and seek advice. One of my favorite pieces came from a junk shop...and I think its actually a greeting card...but its matted 5 times..in the same color...with just a thin gold line around the card itself, and the fourth mat. The original frame was a cheap shiny gold metallic thing....I had it reframed in a gold touched wooden frame....unobtrusive because I wanted the art itself to be the visual focus. Make your fabulous art the focus of your living room

The sofa totally overwhelms the space. Full (double and a half) drapes taken to ceiling height, along with floor lamps would help create some balance.

I would go bold and do some sort of wallpaper or stencil.

I'm going to be odd man out, so to speak, and say no gray. (Grey is the new beige) Go for a dusty teal or sea foam green. (Benjamin Moore paints shown) It will make the art pop and cozy the room.

I don’t know if this matters but these built-in book shelves are in the room. Always wanted to paint the wall behind them (not the shelves) a dark color (dark navy).

P..S. I would love to do some sort of window treatment but because of my creative design idea limitations I had shutters installed in all of our windows (upstairs as well), so that when you look at the house from there the outside there is a consistency in the windows. Never mind the morning sun that wakes us up! Argh!
