Hi All,

We are renovating our living room floor. Currently, it has these 80's beige carpet, which we are definitely pulling out. The living room leads to the front entrance and an open dining room, so ideally, I would like the flooring to be the same. The original owners had put these cherry luxury vinyl planks all around the first level of the house. I like what they put in, so ripping it out is not an option.

However, since they renovated in 2008, the product they used has been discontinued. I was able to find something very similar called Allure traffic master in Cherry...not an exact match, but close enough. They don't have the greatest reviews on home depot, so I am hesitate to use it. So far, here are my options:

1) Choose to put the Allure traffic master in Cherry vinyl (this will continue the reddish/brown color scheme. However, I fear that Allure's slightly different grain pattern make it stand out from what we have already. My goal is to have these two flooring look seamless.

2) Ditch the luxury vinyl idea and replace the 80's carpet with a more modern, light cream color carpet. (Not my favorite option because I don't like putting carpets near the front entrance)

3) Put tile in the entire living and entry way (A suggestion was made by my contractor to put in light gray tiles, but I am not sure if gray complements the railings we have. Plus, I feel gray goes in a more modern home, and ours is a traditional home)

Any help is appreciated.
