single stem method for tomatoes in sfg?

So I'm reading a ton of blogs and am trying to decide whether or not to do the single stem method for the tomatoes in my new sfg. I understand the trade off, I'll have more plants when I prune them into a single stem but will have smaller yields. I'm curious as to the opinion on what to do if I have a 7 by 3 foot raised bed. Should I attempt the single stem method with 3 or 4 plants or the more traditional method of 2 plants with a couple of cages? And if the single stem method is the way to go, I'm seeing a lot of different trellises with single strings hanging down or trellises involved mesh like materials. But if cages are indeed easier, should that still be per square foot or should I expand it? Again, I'm reading different things during my research. Any thoughts about which way to lean will be appreciated. SFG is all new to me. I know all about Mel's book, but I was wondering what worked for you fine people. THANKS!
