We are doing board and batten and need to span a wall that is slightly taller than 10’. The harder siding only comes in 10’ lengths. For the walls that are longer, is it ok to use Hardie soffit panels which come in 12’ length as the siding? I have seen a few houses on houzz where they did this in order to avoid horizontal seems in board and batten. However, I don’t know if this would be durable. Also are there any installation considerations to take into account if we use the soffit panels as siding? They are 16” wide we are spacing battens 16” apart so that seems like it works.
