Yes, but midnight blue might be more sophisticated.

My home is basically black and white with tiffany blue accents also gay dining chairs, lots of white trim with white trim on my black frame windows. The formal living room that is open to the dining will be white.

Sure! Make sure you have plenty of light coming from light fixtures. I had a black bedroom at one time (white trim, white ceiling) and while I loved it, it needed more lighting than you would expect. I hope you'll share pictures when it is done.

The contrast of dark and light makes any space feel very rich. Have you considered a very dark blue that is almost black? I feel it has a lot more depth. Consider doing it in a high-gloss to further emphasize the look.

Use flat paint......my walls were textured and I put semi gloss (what was I thinking?) BM Salamander, a blue black green color and it was soo dramatic but the gloss made the texture look like lizard skin! Hubs was so sweet about painting it but when we were done we both agreed it was a bit too dramatic for the house and redid it in Calke Green by Farrow & Ball and love it now....dramatic but soft, not dramatic and BOLD. haha

Very similar to this color but with out the wainscoting. Also a nice ceiling color is to mix 10% wall color to white.
