I would do the following:

1. Yes, get a rug, the dining table screams for it!
2. Paint the place white, it will bounce of light. The place looks very dark now.
3. Add some plants to make the place feel more alive.
4. Personally not a fan of the chandelier, it's dark (because of its color), and the place can use more light.

It is actually really bright in here - almost too bright the glass on the table was turning photo too bright so had to tone it down.

Pennywise - thanks! I look at that buffet all the time and wonder about painting it black. I do have one black painted piece in the living room. I was also planning to maybe change dining table legs to iron ones.

I am very curious: What is the name of the print over the buffet? Or what is it a picture of? Alice down the rabbit hole?

BTW, I wouldn’t use those pieces on the dining table chairs, with images of food and coffee spills clinging to the fur, but I like everything else. Some folks don’t like rugs under tables for the same reason. I think I’d chance it. Bet you could find a great rug to pull your eclectic look together.

If you paint the buffet black, I wonder if you could get a bunch of mismatched old doorknobs to use for pulls? Is that too odd for you?

It’s a actual photo called down the rabbit hole. I got it on Etsy. I need to get some no glare glass on though. No mismatched knobs would not be too quirky for me - good idea!
