Sneak Peak

We've been remodeling our new home since last November. I seldom comment in Kitchens, but I am here reading daily, and wanted to share a glimpse of the new kitchen. I am doing another English kitchen, but far from the look of our current one. (I am so going to miss that island!) Appliances are being installed next week, hopefully the soapstone counters too. When I saw these handles on a Humphrey Munson kitchen, I knew they were "the one." DH sent me this snippet pic yesterday. I used three sizes of this handle in the kitchen. There are 5 of this +17" long version on the fridge/freezer/pantry wall. I am in love.

Beautiful! Your last kitchen and home was one of my all time favorites!!! I am sure you are going to make this one look smashing!

Ok not fair. Give us another snippet please.

Yes I loved your last kitchen too and it wasn't even my style but it was so well done.

Those handles on that fridge/freezer/pantry wall are beautiful. I can't wait to see how this kitchen turns out. I loved the old one as well.

I have never commented on your ongoing thread on redoing your parents' house, but I have kept up with it. Your choices are lovely. I'm not quite sure how to phrase this, but I think it is so nice that you can maintain a connection to your parents by keeping that house.

More pics please?? I love the English kitchen look and need inspiration

Thank you, all. I will take more photos next week. The walls and cabinets are the same color. Smooth cypress beams. Simple cabinets. The range backsplash is the big ta-da in the room.

I understand what you’re saying about a connection with them. While I never lived in this house, we raised our children about a mile away so were there often.

I didn't know you're working on a new kitchen--thank you for the link. I'll be looking forward to reading about your progress, and viewing your reveal!

So gorgeous! I would be looking around for the heraldic trumpeters every time I went to the refrigerator for a snack.

ETA: instead of finishing my barn chores, I have been oogling the Humphrey Munson website. Solely from my time spent there, I can report that not only do the British have gorgeous kitchens, elegant boxed matches, and lovely house and town names, their recipe instructions put America's to shame:

Mix together the sauce ingredients and set aside. Whilst your bread is toasting, mix cooked prawns in your Marie Rose sauce. Once the toast is ready, spread a good layer of prawns onto one side and scatter some fresh baby spinach and season with salt and pepper (optional).

beautiful! your other kitchen is one of my favorites too. I can't wait to see the reveal!

How did I miss this??? With your impeccable taste, anything less than gorgeous wasn't a possibility, but this is REALLY gorgeous. If you find that your paper towel holder doesn't work for you anymore, feel free to send it my way

    ;)

Your soapstone is gorgeous! I'll be looking forward to your reveal but wouldn't mind a few more sneak peeks along the way....

I agree the soapstone looks so nice. Are the cabinets blue? Super gorgeous!

    Love the sink and counter!

    Thank you, everyone!

I'm sorry #notsorry, but the paper towel holder is working, clueless. ;D I don't post in Kitchens often, but read daily.

Stephanie, they are F&B Blue Grey. They tend to photograph/look blue on my laptop. IRL they are a soft blue green that look more green blue to me (and pretty much everyone else that sees them!)

oldbat2be, here's you another sneak peak.

We've been having internet problems, and are changing providers, but he wouldn't install last week since they are working on the landscape now. Yesterday was the first day I did not go through a box. Not that they are all empty, just out of sight! I'm enjoying the new kitchen, but still waiting on the range backsplash.

    Here is the before...

of the freezer/fridge/pantry/pantry/coffee station wall. The microwave is above the blender and coffeemaker, which is on a pull-out tray. Two drawers below. Having new table made, and that's taking longer than planned too. We purchased 30" SZ freezer and fridge towers. Very happy with them. Wall of doors, not the island drawers, is the true color. Love, love the soapstone.

Simply fabulous! Is this an actual HMkitchen or were you able to find the hardware elsewhere?

Thank you! I based it on the HM kitchen style, and a local cabinetmaker built. The hardware is by Armac Martin and I purchased through a local hardware store that carries the brand.

Thanks Allison. They look amazing and I just love the knobs and backplates! Looking forward to seeing it all come all together. Fabulous style!

Thank you so much for adding more pictures :-)

We are working on the backsplash template tomorrow, so I am hoping for range wall to be finished next week. *fingers crossed*

I love love the kitchen, where we spend most of our time - waiting on LR sofa to be made. Backsplash is finally finished. The top from bottom of hood up are two smaller pieces. The right side broke the first time.

Island in our last home was larger and held the sink. This island is perfect for entertaining - my birthday on the 4th of July.

I'm having table made for the breakfast area. Once it arrives, I'll post the other end of the room.
