Drooping leaves can be indicative of ... too little ... or too much water.

With African Violets, you want to err on the side of "too little" water, as "too much" water can be a killer. If your plant is too dry, you may lose a few leaves ... but the plant is generally recoverable.

How was the soil dampness when you first noticed the issue ?

That will help to answer your question.

The soil on the one with droopy leaves was extremely dry.

Aegis is right. Droopy leaves = not enough water. Put the violet in a cottage cheese container, water some from the top to drain out then fill the container with water and let it soak for about 15-20min. Drain and repeat when it is ALMOST dry. No reason I can think of to let it get bone dry as that just damages roots.

I don't think your well water is bad. BUT,,,,,do you run your water thru a filter of any kind? Now THAT may be a game changer. Especially if it requires salt pellets.

If that is the case, use rain water, melted snow water, or buy a jug of cheap water from the store just for your violets.
