Please don't paint the garage door red, either the car door or the people door. That will make the "Welcome to my garage" message strong when what you want is a "Welcome to my home" message. You want the main entry door that visitors use to be the one standing out. Consider adding seasonal color to the porch such as bright colored pillow or painting the furniture to match the door, large pots of bright flowers or winter greens, or even wrapping red ribbon that matches the door on your porch pillars along with light or evergreen roping.

Do you have more colorful plants in warm weather, or is the garden mostly green all year? Do you have any snowless or summer time photos even if the house color is different?

We have 3 mounding bushes at the walkway. Between are purple day lillies. I have some coral bells under the decorative tree at the corner of the steps leading into the yard and at the corner of the fence I have a small tree that I believe was grafted with a hydrangea.

I will be taking out those boxy yews at the front of the porch and the tree to the right of them in the pic

What are your thoughts on garage door colour? Keep dark or go with white?

The garage door needs to recede so it isn't a focal point. How it is done is by painting it a color that blends with the neutral siding around it. Paint the people door that same color. Use your red for the front door.

I like what you have done so far. Once you have painted the front door red and landscaped, it should really shine.
