Hi all, I am thinking of switching the space of my garage with a room. The garage is on the south side which has best lighting and is blocking other room. The room is on the north close to utility room and stairwell.

I understand in general, converting a garage to living space doesn't add value. How about switching? It looks like it makes the layout a lot better.

Some note, it's a 50 year old house and the garage was a carport when it was built. The floor has crack.
