Help with TV placement!

I can’t for the life of me figure out where to place our TV in our family room. The whole left wall is windows, and right now it’s leaning on the fireplace edge. Do we drill into the brick and mount it, or does anyone have a better suggestion? Thanks friends!

What is to the right of the fireplace? You could do something like this--add floating shelves to balance out the big black screen and big black fireplace.

Just to the right is the entry to the hall—no more space on that side, unfortunately! I love that idea though!

What about using a projector and projector screen as your TV?

You can pull down the screen when you want to watch something.

A wide rustic mantle running from end to end would really make that wall more of a focal point and you could place the tv to the left of the fireplace (imagine set up below but with your tv where the plant/pottery is located) and some low pottery just below the vent, so as to take the eye away from it. Add some baskets/pillows on the ledge for more interest.

I would remove that shelf you have above the tv and then get a stand for the tv and put it on the hearth as you have it leaning now. Do you have power though?

Hang the tv and source out wall mounted tv units/ shelves that can house your components too. :)

Optimum placement for a TV is middle of the tv at eye level in your seating position, especially how close it is to your seating. Mount it on the wall slightly elevated and moved to the left of where it currently is. Center or top align with the fireplace height-wise. Move that shelf as its in the way.

Unfortunately the space you have is not conducive to centering the tv. From an observation I would remove the shelf above the tv then have the tv mounted on the wall. However I would have tv no higher tan the fireplace do that it would look balanced. As I am not looking at the floor plan I can’t really say if there are any other alternatives for your space planning.
