Do you mean actual glam, or just a more finished, polished look? Regardless, I suggest changing the light fixture (and hanging it lower) then adding curtain panels or Romans to soften the Windows.

Hang some drapes at the ceiling, new chandelier and door framing with thick headers might do the trick. It might also make a shaft effect. Hard to tell with some of the picture angles but that would be my first try.

Chandelier looks too small, needs to be lowered ( 30 inches off of table). I glamed up my breakfast nook area with valance window treatments and a plant in a fishbowl .

Thanks to Everyone for responding so quickly. The room is dated and dark and I am trying to lighten it up and make it look nice.

Not so weird. Our windows and doors are not cased, just like these. I do have the crown valance on all the wood blinds to add interest. Like this:

Don’t rush into a bunch of changes without thinking through the style you want in the end. A round table with low backed chairs will be a good place to start. A large piece of art on the wall most visible from other spaces would definitely help. Window treatments last. You might find with other elements you don’t need more treatments at the windows. Get round table first. Not too large. That will drive size of chandelier. Table is first.

She does not have a theme she want to carry over. She just wants a beautiful space
