Cleaning soapstone

I have beautiful soapstone counters in my kitchen, they are 9 years old. I have been noticing that they have a etching look when the sun is shinning in the kitchen. I think it may be some residue from wax. First, I aways oiled them and found it worn down in the areas of the most use. Then I read on this forum that wax soapstone sealer and wood wax by Real Milk Paint Co. was the thing to use. I did that and it was pretty much just ok. I have tried washing the counters down with ammonia to remove the wax, now I see swipe make along with the etching( it really isn't etching) any suggestions. How can I get the soapstone naked so to speak? Can they been buffed down by a professional?

Thank you. any and all suggestions welcomed.
